August at Oblique Table

Oblique Table is a creative workshop and community space in New York City offering small-group, hands-on craft experiences. In August 2026, our seasonal programming explored the textures, colors, and memories of summer through seashells, indigo dyeing, crochet, watercolor, candle decorating, and bookmaking.

Our August workshops included Seashell Ocean Candle Decorating, Indigo Dyeing × Fishing-Net Bag, Seashell Watercolor Palette, 3D Crochet Flower Hair Clips, and Seashell Bookmaking. Workshops are designed to be beginner-friendly and emphasize hands-on learning, natural materials, craftsmanship, cultural traditions, and creative community.

The August theme was inspired by the objects and sensory memories we associate with summer—shells collected by the water, sun-faded blues, flowers, fishing nets, warm wax, watercolor, and handmade keepsakes.

Oblique Table hosts creative workshops, craft experiences, women’s social gatherings, and community events in New York City.
